3. Joining walks and events
- Participation in hikes or events organised by Women Wander Wild is voluntary and at your own risk.
- Most hikes and adventures are hosted by volunteers within the Women Wander Wild community. These hosts may be peers with a similar level of mountain experience to attendees. Some events are led by Hill and Moorland Leaders or Mountain Leaders; these may be either trainees or fully qualified. The event description will clearly outline the experience and/or qualification level of the host. Where no qualifications are stated, attendees should assume the host does not hold a formal leading or guiding qualification. If you are unsure, it is your responsibility to confirm that the host’s experience or qualifications meet your expectations and requirements prior to attending. By joining an event, you acknowledge and accept the level of leadership provided and agree to take part under the guidance of the named host.
- You are responsible for assessing your own fitness, health, and ability to complete any walk safely.
- Please follow the instructions of group leaders and respect other participants, wildlife, and the environment.
- We reserve the right to refuse participation or remove anyone behaving in a way that endangers others or disrupts the group.
4. Safety and liability
- Women Wander Wild aims to promote safe and enjoyable outdoor experiences, but hiking and outdoor activities carry inherent risks.
- We are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that occurs during walks or related activities, except where required by UK law.
- Participants should ensure they have appropriate clothing, footwear, and (if desired) personal insurance.
- Attendees are responsible for arranging appropriate travel and personal insurance to cover participation in events. This should include cover for cancellations, personal injury, and loss or damage to equipment. Women Wander Wild accepts no liability for any such losses, damages, or injuries incurred.
5. Photography and media
- We may take photographs or videos during events to share on our website or social media.
- If you do not wish to appear in any photos, please let an organiser know before or during the event.
